  • Facial Redness
  • Broken Capillaries
  • Spider Veins
  • Telangiectasias
  • Cherry Angiomas
  • Rosacea

Clients experience little discomfort and no downtime or disruptions to their normal activities.  Treatment time varies, depending on the size of the area requiring treatment.

Rosacea

Rosacea is affecting an estimated 45 million people world wide.  What is it, what can be done to prevent it, and how can it be treated?

What is Rosacea?  It is a disorder that causes the blood vessels in the face to swell.  Symptoms to be aware of include flushing and redness on the central face, across the cheeks, nose and forehead.

What can you do to prevent a Rosacea flare up?  By being aware of and staying away from things that will trigger facial redness.  Common Rosacea triggers include:  spicy foods, alcohol, hot beverages, extreme temperatures, hot water, stress, and sun exposure.  This may require a small adjustment in certain areas of our daily routine, but it is well worth the effort.  For example, by including a broad-spectrum sunscreen containing either zinc or titanium as an active ingredient, you will be able to reflect both UVA/UVB rays which aggravate Rosacea and trigger inflammation in the skin.

How can it be treated?  While there is no way to eliminate Rosacea altogether, improved laser technology has benefited Rosacea patients.  Intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy has proven effective in relieving redness.  Often, this treatment produces optimal results with four to six treatments, two weeks apart.  Laser treatments also have minimal side effects.  Having a basic skin care routine is also important, such as using only gentle cleansers and mild moisturizers.  Read the labels and stay away from products that contain alcohol, eucalyptus, fragrances like menthol, peppermint, and witch-hazel that are known to aggravate the condition.

What to do?  Take action with the assistance of our staff here at Radiance Med Spa.  We offer a Rosacea Healing package which includes 3 Intense Pulsed Light Therapy Treatments, 2 Mild Gel Peels, and a Skin Ceuticals Rosacea Kit.  Call today and schedule a consultation and we will customize a program for you skin care needs.
